Beautician's Granddaughter Tries Function of Beauty πŸ’‡‍♀️πŸ’‡‍♀️πŸ’‡‍♀️

Growing up, I distinctely remember going to my grandmother's salon and sitting in her old-fashioned chair while I got my hair cut by her. My grandmother had worked hard and had managed to save enough to get her own salon, no small feat in the 60s. And as the years went by and the world outside her salon changed, one thing remained constant: her salon. In fact, as a child, I remember thinking how wonderfully amazing it was that my grandmother had a salon right next to her house. It almost seemed magical, a salon in the middle of a neighbourhood, tucked away like a hidden treasure that only a select few knew about. Later on, I found out it had once been in a shopping center, but had been the only business to remain open and later, had even outlived the shopping center when it was torn down around it.

Another constant growing up was haircare and how seriously my family took it. Most people have a single set of shampoo and conditioner; my family had a mountain of products that we rotated through. It wasn't enough to just wash our hair we had to take care and maintain it. I can remember seemingly never-ending Paul Mitchell products we used since it was my father's favourite brand and can still smell the leave-in conditioner I loved to use as a child. As a teenager, I definitely say I strayed and neglected my hair. I used awful products and the cheapest box dye I could find only to be dismayed when my hair would get ruined. It was only in the past three years that I've come back to nurturing and caring for my hair like the rest of my family.

So what do I normally use? Biolage, It's a 10, Nioxin and Redken. I use some other brands, but those are my go-tos. I love to find new haircare products and am in love with anything that makes my hair feel fluffy and soft. So when the ads for Function of Beauty kept popping up online, it really made me curious. It said that it was organic and custom-made for you and that was what really interested me. It seemed like it could be more tailor-made for you than even some of the salon-quality products you can get, and I especially loved that you could even choose the colour of the shampoo and conditioner so you could colour-code them if you wanted to! I'm deathly allergic to citrus so for me, it's always important that there are allergen-safe scents and I was happy to see that there about half of the scents were safe for me to use :).

There is a hair quiz that you take to decide which kind of hair you have and after that, you pick up to five different "hair goals", which decide what kind of things they put in your shampoo and conditioner.

I filled everything else, and picked the scent Flower To The People since I really love floral scents and then I waited :3

About two weeks later, my package arrived~

Yaaaassss!!!

I got all three: shampoo, conditioner and leave-in product

At first glance, I was excited! I had decided to have the same colour for both the shampoo and conditioner, but despite the conditioner being creamier/darker, I was a little unsure how I'd tell them apart in the shower without my glasses, but it was just a small thing :)

I was excited to smell Flower To The People and I LOVED it! It's a florally scent that smells like wildflowers and despite asking for it to be very strong, it wasn't overpowering at all, which was nice! I'm one of those people that loves to have a good scent that just envelops you when you're showering, but I don't like when the scent is so strong that it almost punches you in the face.

I loved all three of them at first sight~
Once I got done looking and smelling everything, I decided to give them a try later that day, so... how did it go?

Well, there was a little problem at the beginning when a bunch of the shampoo shot out at me :< but it was my own fault! Like I said, I can't see very well in shower without my glasses and I hadn't noticed that there was a plastic stopper on each bottle to prevent the product from spilling in the post, so when I squeezed it and nothing came out, I just squeezed it harder until the stopped shot out and there was nothing to stop the shampoo from following lol. But once I knew that was there, I was able to take out the plastic stopper on the conditioner and it was fine :)

So how did I like it? Did I like it?

YES!

I loved it!!!

Their products felt very good on my hair and scalp and my hair afterwards felt very silky, light and fluffy and even after it dried, my hair was very shiny and glossy :3

The shampoo is very light and glossy and feels almost like gel and it cleans your hair amazingly well without leaving your hair feeling like it's been stripped of all the oils and life. The conditioner is heavier and feels a little heavy on your head, but once you add water and mix it through your hair with your nails, it really does well and covers your whole head really well and makes all of your hair feel great. It's like a gatorade for your hair and my hair just sucked it all up and made it feel amazing and super hydrated and moisturised!!!

I love you

I ended up loving their shampoo and conditioner so much that I decided to order a second batch with slightly different "hair goals" so that I could alternate between the two of them like I'm used to. This time, I chose yellow so that I could tell them apart and this order was just as good as the first, though the conditioner was much heavier, but I imagine it's because of what I had chosen the second time around.

It's been one month and I've been using both of them every day, alternating between each one and I'm still in love with their products and my hair feels just as good and healthy as before!

I have seen some comments online under their ads of one of two people making pretty wild claims like the shampoo and conditioner caused all of their hair to fall out or melt, but so far, I haven't experienced any of this and the comments are so rare and far-between that I don't really believe it. Not only that, but everything in the bottles are organic and I've never heard of a shampoo or conditioner causing this to happen at all, not from salon-quality or drug store products, so I'm more than a little skeptical. I can honestly say that personally, my hair feels pretty amazing and looks super healthy and nice and I would totally recommend their product to anyone!

Since this is an honest and non-sponsored review, I don't have a promo code to offer you, but I do have this link that I got when I ordered that promises $5 off your first order, so I'll definitely link in down below and if you try it out, I hope you love it just as much as I do :3

So go ahead and Give it a Try!
